Thanksgiving History
Welcome back my fellow readers!!! This week is going to be our Thanksgiving Special!
Well have you ever thought  how Thanksgiving ever became a holiday? I'm going to guess no. The reason I say no is because people think that Thanksgiving is just to have fun, and to get your day off. But people never think of how thankful they should be of what they have. I was once that greedy and selfish person, but then I realized that I was thankful for what I had.Now let me explain you the history of Thanksgiving.
The first Thanksgiving was in 1621. The Pilgrims came to  Plymouth, Massachusetts, and were the first inspiration for Thanksgiving. The winter of 1620 killed half of the pilgrims. Then the pilgrims made a good relation with the Native Americans. The Native Americans taught them how to hunt, fish, and gather their food. By 1624, the colonists and Native Americans, gathered enough food to last the entire community for the whole fall. Then, they celebrated a harvest festival which is now Thanksgiving, and also invited everyone.

This was a big filthy feast that lasted three days long. The feast did not include many things that we eat today. The colonists and Native Americans roasted goose, corn, craw fish, lobster, and vegetables.Today, we eat a big turkey with stuffing in it, potatoes as the side dish, and we also include cranberry sauce.

In 1777, the continental congress decided that thirteen of America's colonies should celebrate a national day of  Thanksgiving. Well this all I have for all you fellow readers out there reading my blog. I have a little video posted on the bottom about the history of Thanksgiving. After you read this post please do comment on what you are thankful to have. Please have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
